Stanley Street Replanting Project, Strathpine, Queensland (2006/2007)
Moreton Bay Regional Council Community Assistance Scheme Grant (formerly known as Pine Rivers Council Community Assistance Scheme Grant) - $5,000
The grant was used to replant the creek line along Stanley Street with additional koala food trees and other natives ensuring the area will continue to provide additional sources of food and shelter for the existing koala population.

Thirty five weed trees were removed that included E. torelliani, Erythrina and Pinus radiate and the mulch generated from these trees was used for revegetation activities at this site.
In addition, an area 7 metres wide and 550 metres long adjacent to the bank of the drainage channel was sprayed to remove exotic weeds and grasses, mulched and replanted with native tube stock. A total of 400 endemic natives were planted that included 100 koala food trees.
The grant included a watering regime of approximately three litres of water per plant on three separate occasions.
Our commitment extended to undertaking two years of maintenance on all sites which includes manual removal of weeds surrounding the plant and the use of a broad-spectrum systemic Glyphosate herbicide to remove weed and grass species that negatively impact on the growth of the plants.
