Achievements

KAI undertakes a range of activities related to the sustainability of koalas all over their natural range. The primary focus of this website is the South East Queensland region of Australia.

We have separated all of these undertakings into categories, each category has specific in-depth information.

KAI applies for local, state and federal government grants, it also applies for funding opportunities initiated by private businesses and commercial enterprises

Replant koala food trees and other natives in parks, reserves and open spaces;

Rehabilitate existing bushland by removing exotic weeds, plants and grasses to facilitate natural regeneration as well as replanting to increase its carrying capacity.

Over the years KAI and some of its members have been recognised by local and state government authorities as well as private enterprises for the efforts they have made to ensure the survival of koalas in South East Queensland.

We have provided financial assistance and supported the establishment of other like minded groups such as Moreton Bay Eco Alliance (MBEA), Queensland Koala Crusaders (QKC) and are founding members of the National Koala Alliance (NKA), made up of koala stake holders in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
