Membership fees provide an important financial benefit towards advocacy on behalf of koalas and the crucial habitat upon which they depend for food, shelter and dispersal opportunities. The more members KAI has, the greater its political influence and its ability to implement effective strategies to ameliorate some of the perils facing this unique and endangered marsupial.

KAI conducts regular general meetings and an annual general meeting. These meetings involve education, fund raising, writing submissions, making recommendations and developing strategies.
